We know that writers, like people are not all the same so we try different approaches for different types of writers. These social classes will have you trying out different creative writing activities and discussing them as a group. They can be booked as a stand alone workshop or as a block of sessions. The length of these workshops varies and the idea number of participants per workshop is between 8 and 16, depending on the setting where these will be hosted. We are keenly aware that for many Adult Learners, the idea of writing can be very intimidating. We are very proactive at adapting the sessions to meet participants where they are.

Scrapyard Journalling
We provide beautiful scrap books, collage materials and encourage participants to start collecting scraps of ideas based on a theme. Previous workshops have explored themes of time, belonging and identity. We include a warm up activity and end of session reflection. We feed in multiple prompts through our time and encourage peers to share ideas and support each other.
We can also provide prompt sheets for people to use after the session or in between sessions.
Finding the Plot
We explore different narrative threads and consider how to use these in storytelling, whether we are writing autobiographies or fiction. To stretch out ideas and dig a little deeper, we recommend that these sessions last at least 3 hours.
Options for narrative themes are: The Hero’s Journey, Rags to Riches or Overcoming the Monster
Begin!
One thing we have heard time and time again is “How do I start?!” or “Where do ideas come from?”. These sessions last 90 minutes and are great for those who are new to creative writing, or for people who may not have written for some time. These sessions encourage participants to share what works for them and start to build a regular creative writing practice.
